Bristol: 2026 Gallery
MPO 2026 has come and gone. Another year of people beavering away on their entries and another wonderful weekend shared with like-minded hobbyists in the lovely surroundings of Bristol.
This was our third in person MPO, and again we took a punt on making it bigger and better. This time we expanded to three different spaces; this allowed us to have a completely separate vendor hall with space to welcome Rogue Hobbies, Rich Mason Art, and Amberwork Studios, in addition to the 2025 stalwarts El Greco, Artis Opus, Element, and Taro Model Maker.
In the second additional space, we had a paint-and-take setup, where people got the chance to play around with the full Minicolour range ahead of launch and just sit, paint, and chat with each other. Some of the tales told around the painting table were worth the ticket price alone!
With over 800 entries, there were certainly plenty of minis to look at, in addition to our wonderful guest and judges' displays, featuring Gundam, MAK, Duels, guest artist Gareth Nicholas, and multiple Best of Show/Slayer Sword winning pieces from the judges. The quality of the entries was remarkable, and the judging team were hard at it late into the evening. You can see loads of the entries in the gallery here.
As I write these notes, we’re sat in a beer garden enjoying a job well done (and a carvery), and I am left in a strangely contented mood after the event. Thanks to our amazing team of volunteers, we had the whole thing broken down and packed up within a couple of hours, and just like that it was as if I hadn’t been surrounded by hundreds of amazing hobbyists, chatting about paint and projects and the wonderful things that make our community a very rewarding one to be a part of.
We are already hard at work getting 2027 locked in, with a list of tweaks and additions we’re confident will continue to make MPO a weekend worth attending.
Thank you to our sponsors: Daylight Company, Artis Opus, Redgrass Games, and Harder & Steenbeck.
And thank you to everyone who attended; you are helping to create an event that the modern miniature painting scene should be proud of.
Hopefully we’ll see you there next year!
Henry
